Coronavirus Information from Blue Thunder Players in the Medical Profession
Glenn (Doc) Hofer, MD shared the following information for all affected by the coronavirus pandemic,
"Wanted to take a moment of your time to urge everyone to stay healthy and safe. Whichever community or state you live in, please shelter in place, stay home, enjoy the company of loved ones at home, follow the guidelines on keeping your distance in public when you have to go out, washing hands thoroughly, etc., for the rest of this month and April. Over the last 20 years plus, have gotten to know many if not most of you, and as you all know, need you fine folks to be teammates, opponents, and instructors. Cannot afford to lose any of you.
What we are seeing now in Nor Cal is reaching across the entire country. There will be no safe cities or states. Estimates vary from between 1/3 and 2/3 of all Americans who will be infected by the Corona19 virus. The next few weeks will be crucial in limiting the number of serious infections and deaths. What we are now seeing in hospitals is TRULY FREAKING SCARY, making all of us think more than twice about going to work in those hospitals. Even being athletic and in shape does not provide any protection. Regardless of what you hear, older folks are NOT the only victims. While 60+ folks may be at higher risk, none of the other age brackets are safe. We in the medical field do not completely understand how the virus is spreading. Many who are infected and die have had no recognizable contact with others known to be sick or asymptomatic carriers.
Everyone please take good care of yourselves. We look forward to seeing ALL of you in future competitions, wearing the Blue Thunder colors.
Later.
